Postcards from buster we are family1/1/2024 ![]() ![]() I wonder how the live action segments were filmed. The camcorder device sets up the live action portions of the episode so there are real live action shots of the interior of a plane and the take off and landing. To cheer him up, Bitzi gives Buster a camcorder so he can film everything he is doing and send the tapes back home. The Reads, plus Buster, finally head off to the airport! Buster carries a box of tissues from home in case Bitzi starts crying, but it turns out he’s the one who needs the tissues. Buster feels slightly better about leaving although he is bummed when he realizes he will have to clean up the mess he created. Bitzi figures what’s going on and tells Buster that of course she is going to miss him but he shouldn’t feel guilty about taking the opportunity to go spend time with his dad. “I bet you can’t wait to get rid of me now!” he tells Bitzi cheerfully when she comes home to see the mess. I really feel that if left to his own devices, Buster would live in some “Hoarders”-style pig sty. He tries the opposite approach and acts like a lazy slob, which, quite frankly, I am not entirely positive is just an act. can stop pinching pennies!īuster tries out Arthur’s advice of being super sweet and helpful to his mom but then he worries that this will just make Bitzi miss him even more. Thankfully, Grandma Thora wins big at bingo and gives her winnings to the family so they can go see the show so D.W. Unfortunately, she only finds ten cents and her old imaginary pet flying pig, Snooter. She tries to put Arthur and Pal on diets, clips coupons, and digs around the couch for loose change. vows to help the family save money so they can get tickets to see the show. David is sketpical Broadway tickets are expensive and Unicornacopia looks terrible.įor God’s sake, a local newspaper only gave it one star. Arthur reads the ad and fins out that it’s playing in New York City so D.W. recognizes an ad for Unicornacopia, a Broadway musical that is being advertised on TV. Their relationship is a little one-sided if you ask me.Īt the breakfast table, D.W. Buster thanks Arthur for that advice and in return, he punches Arthur’s Greebs hat inside out. He imagines her sobbing her heart out at the airport and drowning the whole place in her tears.Īrthur suggests that Buster be nice to his mom so it won’t hurt as much when he leaves. Buster explains that he’s worried that his mom will miss him when he goes away. Arthur asks what gives because hello, packing for the bro trip is phase one of the most exciting part of the bro trip. It’s their first road trip as bros.Īrthur is excitedly packing for the upcoming trip and wondering if New Yorkers will be offended if he wears his Elwood City Greebs hat while Buster sits glumly. excitedly.Īrthur and Buster are pumped too. “The New York City? Not some city called Old York City?” cries D.W. Jane sees the kids spying and informs them that the Read clan are going to New York City to take Buster to see his father! is interested and lends Arthur a paper towel tube to help listen better. Now that it might possibly concern her, D.W. comes out of her room to scold Arthur for “ear dropping” but he insists that whatever Jane and Bitzi are talking about could affect the whole family. ![]() I’m glad somebody is doing their job out there and getting the facts straight.Īlso, I can’t believe I wrote two paragraphs about the Wikipedia entries of PBS animated series.īuster and Arthur are eavesdropping on a mysterious conversation that their mothers are having and trying to relay their respective informative via walkie talkie. I just read on the “Arthur” Wikipedia page that this season 8 episode was basically a backdoor pilot to both set up and test the concept of a Buster-centric spin-off. Buster doesn’t send any postcards to anyone! How did an episode where Buster doesn’t send any postcards inspire a whole show where Buster sends video postcards to his friends? That’s some– I don’t buy the bullshit on “Postcards from Buster” Wikipedia page that claims that the"Postcards From Buster" spin-off was inspired by this episode. Note: This episode is a two-part episode but will be recapped as a singular episode. I’ll write a full post on it New Year’s Day. Meaning: this blog will still exist and recaps will come back, here and on another place. I have been thinking about the future of this blog and don’t worry, it’s a positive one. I will still re-post the Christmas recap tomorrow. Merry Christmas Eve! I know I haven’t been active very much so instead of just reposting my Arthur’s Perfect Christmas Eve recap, I decided to work on the next recap, which so happens to be the special “Postcards From Buster”.

Wally beaver and eddie haskell1/1/2024 ![]() “He was a terrific guy, he was a terrific actor and his character is probably one that will last forever,” Dow told The Associated Press on Monday. He constantly kissed up to adults and kicked down at his peers, usually in the same scene, and was the closest thing the wholesome show had to a villain. Ken Osmond’s Eddie Haskell stood out among many memorable characters on the classic family sitcom “Leave it to Beaver,” which ran from 1957 to 1963 on CBS and ABC, but had a decades-long life of reruns and revivals.Įddie was the best friend of Tony Dow’s Wally Cleaver, big brother to Jerry Mathers’ Beaver Cleaver. “He had his family gathered around him when he passed. “He was an incredibly kind and wonderful father,” son Eric Osmond said in a statement. May he rest in peace.LOS ANGELES (AP) - Ken Osmond, who played the two-faced teenage scoundrel Eddie Haskell on TV’s “Leave It to Beaver,” died Monday, his family said. Osmond’s wife of 51 years, Sandy, their two children, and various other family members mourn his death. After that movie, Osmond would occasionally make appearances at nostalgia conventions, collector shows, and festivals. In the movie, Osmond played the father of his former character, Eddie Haskell. The beloved actor joined the cast of the “Leave It to Beaver” movie in 1997. In 1983, he joined some of his old co-stars to reunite in “The New Leave It to Beaver.” In the series, Osmond’s sons Christian and Eric portrayed the sons of Eddie Haskell (Osmond’s character). Eventually, he retired, earning a medical disability pension from the force. Osmond was wounded in the line of duty three times. He was a skilled member of the vice squad. To help protect his anonymity he grew a mustache. Afterward, he had a few brief roles in the TV shows “Petticoat Junction,” and “The Munsters.” In 1967, he performed his last minor role in “C’mon, Let’s Live a Little,” before joining the Los Angeles Police Department. What Did He Do After “Leave It to Beaver”?Īfter the show ended in 1963, the child star joined the Army for a brief time. He would be completely respectful to the Cleaver mom while bullying Beaver and calling him “squirt.” His best buddy Wally Cleaver would get into trouble from time to time when Haskell convinced him to break a rule or curfew. On the show, Haskell’s horrible shenanigans would smudge the Cleaver name on occasion. His blond, curly hair, hideous sneer, and frightening stance made him an instant sensation. ![]() From there the boys had minor roles in “So Big,” “Good Morning, Miss Dove,” and “Everything But the Truth.” Becoming an Instant SensationĪfter his small part in “Everything But the Truth,” Osmond appeared on the popular shows, “Circus Boy,” “Lassie,” and “Annie Oakley.” Osmond was 14 years old when he scored the role of Eddie Haskell. Osmond and his brother, Dayton were child extras in “Plymouth Adventures,” a Mayflower pilgrim tale. Thanks to her being the classic stage mom, he and his brother got their big break in acting. The father’s job gave the mother (Pearl Hand) access behind the scenes where she would talk to people about her sons. His father Thurman Osmond was a propmaker and studio carpenter. The actor was born on June 3, 1943, in Glendale California. He was loved and will be missed.” His Early Years ![]() Osmond’s son Eric released a statement announcing the actor’s death. At this time there has not been a cause of death listed. He played Eddie Haskell, the smart-alecky sidekick to Wally Beaver. On May 18, 2020, “Leave It to Beaver” star, Ken Osmond passed away. |
